Epsilon-Caprolactone,with molecular weight 114.14, density 1.069g/ml, colourless liquid, soluble in water, alcohol, polar solvents ect., but insoluble in Sherwood oil.
It is the majaor material to produce PCL degradable plastic, widely used in degradable material, medical appliance, drugcarrier and 3D printing field for its excellet character of biodegradation and biocompatibility. It can be synthesized to PCL polyols by the ring opening of caprolactone monomer as the modifying agent, widely used in polyurethane, acrylic resin, polyester,epoxy resin and coatings to improve the flexibility, impact resistance,weatherability,soluble resistance,hydrolysis resistance and lustre.
